WebFull cover is only +40 defense. Hunker down will double cover bonus AND provide crit immunity (40 for half, 80 for full). Almost all (if not all) aliens have a bonus chance to aim and crit in classic/impossible difficulty. The better option is to move out of sight and overwatch and let the aliens run to you.
